Well hello there again.
Ok so! I'm not really sure what to write about today. I could tell you all what i'v been doing lately. But sadly thats not much. I'll tell you a little about James's social awkwardness.
All names are real and fact are as accurate as I can remember.
So we'll start with a neighbour of mine. Rebecca was her name. And from the day she moved in i developed a crush. In real life i've evolved the skill of confidence. The art of looking and acting cool. But whats really happening inside is something very similar to what Scooby doo go's thought on a weekly basis. Talking to strangers. Are as i like to call it social awkwardness. This has always limited my ability when talking to new people. But i also don't like to be defeated. The two attribute of myself that are at constant war.
Weeks past by and we'd never really spoken. A smile or a wave was about as far as it went with us. But just before christmas social awkwardness was defeated. And victory was sweet.
I can't remember why are what we talked about. And knowing I was going to write this I even called Rebecca to see what she could remember.
Nothing was the answer I got back.
Are first date came the day before i left for my christmas snowboarding holiday. And this is were i give you dating tips. Feel free to stop reading now.
To help me along with these dating tips I'm going to reefer back to my own life and experience.
First off were going to need to ask a girl out on a date. And the best way i know of doing this is ALWAYS over the phone or in person.
Once Becky had agreed to a date theres the subject of flowers to bring up. Its that long time quandary. Do you sent flowers. If you send them do you send before are after the date. What do you write on the card.
To my knowledge all girls like flowers. It's one of the many things men will never understand about women. But it's also something we'll never need to understand. Always send flowers it's never the wrong thing to do. I send the flowers uselessly the day before the date with a nice note saying something like. "really looking forward to are date. Can't wait" are something along those lines.
Now you have the decision of what your going to do on said first date. Many of you would would take her to a movie. Some would favour the dinner option. There may even be a few of you advancers that would go for the dinner and movie combo. But I go for nether. I like to have a little fun on the first date. And with me living so close to Blackpool. The Vegas of the north becomes the setting for are first date.
Why Blackpool you ask.
Blackpool is the place you can go to let your hair down relax. Well there was a time this was true. Maybe I'm getting older and the appeal of drunken stag and hen parties. Mindless gambling zombies. And "The only fools and horse" style market stalls on the front is started to wear off.
The main attraction of Blackpool as a first date spot was it's fair. The fear of being on a date seem to be absorbed. The fear of a 205 feet drop or the excitement as you embark on a watery journey through ice, fire, wind and snow on Valhalla. It all basically runs down to that feeing of comfort with yourself. Once you forget your on a date you become yourself and not the anti social menace you once appeared to be. Blackpool as a dating location has it's other appeals. The awkward moment on that second date when it suddenly dawns on you that you have nothing in common with that person sitting opposite you. That narrow widow of silence is closing fast. The next topic of conversion is on the tip of your tongue. And suddenly it hits you like the warm summer breeze. The silence evaporates as you reminisce of your past date.
Back on that first date you had such a good time. Was it the Blackpool magic are is there a spark of life in this relationship. She works for British Airways. I wasn't going to let that 50% discount get away that easy.
Until next time be safe or just be good
